The Power of Observation and Portfolios
This workshop is intended for teachers and/or administrators in programs that include or are considering to include alternative assessment methods from preschool through elementary school years.

Building Communities:
Moving from Research to Reflective Practice
This workshop is intended for educational organizations that provide support and resourse services for the larger community in the areas of early education, parent support and resource networks. The topics will address program development and responsiveness to community needs. Services can include: data collection for an agency and self-study facilitation and formative feedback/facilitation.

Early Education Choices:
Preschool, Daycare and Beyond
This presentation is an overview of early education choices for children in the toddler and preschool years. Several early childhood education approaches are introduced. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of what characteristics to look for to make any early education experience (i.e. toddler program, preschool, daycare) a good fit for their child(ren) and family and how to recognize developmentally appropriate practice and high quality care.

Learning to Play:
Playing to Learn
This workshop reviews key findings from current research into the role of play in care and group settings as well as in the overall development of young children ages 0-5. Types of play, developmental progression of play and the role of play in child care and preschool settings are discussed.

Program Development and Strategic Planning:
Collaborative Strategies and Implementation
This is a presentation intended for board members and administrators. Topic areas include: Strategic planning, program development, data collection and analysis, and program support through fundraising and volunteer integration. Services will be customized to your program needs and individual areas of focus.

Reflective Care and Intentional Teaching:
Journaling in Early Childhood Education Settings
This workshop is part of a multi-dimensional professional development program for early education settings. The program includes introduction to journaling as a tool for observation, reflection and intentional care and teaching.Components of the program include a multi-week program and in-depth collaboration for professional development purposes. Inquiries from program directors are welcome!

Testing in K-12:
Measures of what?
This workshop presents an overview of commonly used tests and testing methods in K-12. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of commonly used measures of student achievement and their potential misuses. This workshop has been successfully presented to parents/ PTA groups and educators.

The Power of Place:
Responsive and reflective early childhood settings
This workshop is intended for educators and administrators in child care settings that serve ages 0-5 as well as for parents who are looking for care settings for their young children.
The workshop reviews salient elements of positive environments for young children in care settings such as private, public and non-profit infant/toddler/preschool/childcare programs.
